Two Duresta armchairs covered in William Morris linen union. Self piped, tailored under finish.
Comfy armchair with somewhere to put your feet up, with a good book, by the wood burner. Self piped, tailored under finish.
I'm often asked to loose cover leather furniture. Unfortunately this isnt possible, but choosing a co-ordinating natural fabric like this grey wool to replace leather seat cusand using some lovely big scatter cushions, makes this sofa less man den and more snuggle.
Plaid never goes out of fashion. The red sofa cover is made from 2 pairs of curtains. It is self piped, using a particular stripe from the off cuts, to keep the 'busyness' of the piping to a minimum, the piping is also cut on the straight rather than on the bias for the same reason.
If you are considering a cover using a plaid fabric, choosing a plain fabric to be used for the piping can look very smart.
These two pieces have been covered in mixed, linen grain sacks. The colour, weave, texture and narrow width of the sacking provided, meant that I had to 'patchwork' the pieces together as I assembled the cover on to the furniture at the cutting stage. The finished covers give a rustic, 'make do and mend' feel in a Victorian family home in Clapham.
'Unstructured' loose covers featured in article by Judith Wilson on Interior Architect Harriet Anstruther in House and Garden magazine, September 2013
Whilst I generally pride myself in getting your new loose covers, not to to look loose, the brief here was for an unstructured look, which was acheived with a pure linen fabric, and a properly loose, loose cover.

Hard to believe this is the same sofa bed. New foam feather wrap seat interiors, and reshaped feather filled back cushions, tailored under finish, and a fabulous Designers Guild velvet, transform this piece of furniture
It's a dogs life (for now). Not sure muddy paws will be allowed anywhere near the new covers! New hollow fibre seat cushions, self piped and tailored under finish, and armcaps that fit.
