Whilst it is not possible to loose cover leather furniture, it can be softened by making new cushion covers.

This sweet little two seater is covered in fabric reclaimed for 4 enormous curtains. Careful cutting made sure that not only does the pattern match, but all faded areas from the curtains were cut out.
